CONSOL R&D is a major supplier of both steam coal and coking coal with extensive experience meeting the needs and challenges of the coal utilization industry. CONSOL R&D has provided technical consultation for many customers concerning the storage, handling, and crushing of coal.

CONSOL R&D operates a bowl mill pulverizer that is available to clients on a contract basis.

Coal pulverization and fuel milling

The pulverization facility features the following capabilities:

  • Pulverize coal or petcoke to client-specified size down to -200 mesh
  • Feed size up to 2"
  • Lots of one ton to hundreds of tons
  • Throughput up to 2 tons/hour
  • Low-oxygen recirculating gas drying
  • Pulverized product dried to 1% moisture
  • Inerted storage for 80 tons of pulverized coal
  • Loadout for bulk bags and trucks
  • Storage area for loaded bulk bags
  • Stockpile area for 100 ton coarse coal
  • Complete analytical laboratory services available
